MOLYVOS ( METHYMNA)

Molyvos is the second largest town on Lesbos , Mytilene is the capital and very beautiful one at

that.

3-4kms out of town there is an excellent course sand naturist beach that is popular among many

nationalities. Take the main road out of Molyvos towards Petra. Shortly after the road splits to cross

a river you'll see the Hotel Delfina on the right and a sign which reads "To the Beach." Follow the

track to the right of the hotel, walk through the hotel grounds, pass through a yellow gate and

continue along the track through a grove of pistachio trees to the beach. Once there keep walking

left towards the end.

he beach can also be accessed by walking from the main Molyvos beach, but be prepared for a bit

of a trek. The sea all around the area is calm, crystal clear and ideal for swimming and snorkelling.

Skala Eressos may be a favoured location for lesbians, but it can also be a great beach for

naturist straight couples and families.

The beach is very long and made up of very coarse sand and, when the wind is not blowing, it's

probably the best beach on the island.

Nude bathing is commonplace around the dried-up riverbed about 1km west of the town. Either

walk along the beach, or drive along the road that runs parallel to it. Leave the car in the last parking

area before the road turns inland. When you follow the road that runs parallel to the beach, a

"Primitive" sign on a small hut points to the caravan selling drinks on the beach. Park wherever you

can and walk north along the beach until you pass the old riverbed and you enter naturist country.
